Barrington 220
K-5 STEM Teacher
Greater Chicago Area
I am a passionate STEM educator that finds joy in preparing kids for our ever-changing world through development of problem solving skills. Currently I teach K-5 STEM in Barrington, IL and regularly use 1:1 iPads to program LEGO robotics to complete engineering challenges with students. I have a BA in Elementary Education, a MS in Natural Science Education, and a STEM certificate from Tufts University. I have been an instructional coach for elementary and middle school as well as an 8th grade science teacher and a 3-8 gifted teacher/district coordinator. I have also worked in informal education as a naturalist and as a museum curriculum specialist. I took a brief break from the classroom to work as a new product development manager for a NGSS-based hands-on STEM program for PreK-5 in partnership with engineering faculty from Purdue University and Texas A&M.
