Facing declining enrollment, decreased funding, 48% free and reduced lunch, this 426 square mile, rural NE Iowa school district of 1,200 students this District has “stepped through the looking glass” and is transforming teaching and learning.

Embedding technology into learning, a synchronicity has occurred. From teachers to students to cooks to parents to patrons, everyone within the organization now thinks differently. New realities have emerged that have become part of the school culture.

In partnership with Northeast Iowa Community College, Howard-Winn students are discovering their passion and professions, earning college credit, gaining a competitive edge.

Creating urgency and capacity for change, overcoming traditional thinking, along with building infrastructure and human recourses, the experiences from the journey and what we see up ahead will be shared.
