Getting Techie: How we’re flipping PD

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

We work every day to prepare our students for jobs that do not yet exist, in a world we cannot yet imagine due to ever changing technology. Why would our Professional Development be any different? We spend so much time teaching our staff how to use specific devices and software when we know that they will be upgraded, redesigned and rendered obsolete just around the corner. I will talk about the PD that I created for my district to empower staff to be “Techie”. A term that means a person who is confident, excited and self sufficient with tech and technology related challenges. I will be highlighting the structure of the trainings and tools used. We will discuss the reasoning behind those decisions and how people can create interesting, engaging tech PD of their own, no matter the tools available to them.
