This session will focus on the Future Ready aspect of Innovative Teaching & Learning and the journey to implementing district-wide elementary STEM and MakerSpace programs that lead to innovative opportunities and improved student achievement. The purpose of this snapshot session is to offer a chance for the audience to get their questions answered by a district that is on the bleeding edge of innovative teaching and learning.

I taught technology class at Viking Middle School in Gurnee, IL for 14 years and am now the District 56 STEM Director leading the setup of STEM Labs and makerspaces throughout the district, along with STEM curriculum. I also coordinate the Destination Imagination program for District 56 and am a member of the Destination Imagination regional board.
