Riding Innovation to Excellence in Arcola School District’s Classrooms

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Come learn about one district’s successful implementation of a one-to-one digital learning platform framed in the best practices of visionary leadership, on-going professional learning, innovative teaching and learning, compelling evidence of success, and flexible learning environments. A day in life of a student will be woven into the story of one-to-one implementation so practitioners can see both successful system-wide strategies to use when transitioning to 21st century classrooms and also experience how the innovations impact teaching and student learning on a daily basis in Arcola. Some topics discussed in detail will be the SAMR model of integrating technology into teaching; how the district created its own job-embedded professional development for staff while offering graduate credit; the use of an assessment driven supplemental instructional approach that is aligned to SAMR; and the presentation of compelling results in academic achievement and student engagement.
