Should someone be cut off from a world of opportunities and knowledge just because they aren’t connected to the internet at home? Despite the ever-increasing role and importance of connectivity in our lives, 25% of Americans still do not have access to a home high-speed internet connection. This harsh reality, known as the digital divide, disproportionally affects low-income and minority households who are often the ones who stand to benefit the most from this transformative technology. When students don’t have home connectivity, they face incredible challenges in meeting their school obligations, a significant inequality known as the homework gap.
